Performance Pay - Outstanding Teacher
Type D Abstract
The
Outstanding Teacher Type D program will apply the same concepts as
the Group Incentive Program but will be completed on an individual
basis. The type D portfolio will require teachers to show the
progress of their students as measured by assessments that are clear
indicators of academic growth. All type D goals must align with the
District's or local school's academic goals. During the development
of the proposals, the participants would work closely with the
Outstanding Teacher Committee to ensure quality and consistent
assessments. At the end of the year, teachers would provide the
Outstanding Teacher Committee with a portfolio consisting of data
that clearly demonstrates the growth of their students. Teachers
will also include in their portfolios their assessment instruments
and a reflection of the process. During the first year of this
pilot, the Outstanding Teacher Committee rather than the building
administrator will manage the program while the procedures for
future use are developed.
Outstanding Teacher
Type D - An Individual Incentive Program
A Pilot Program
The Outstanding Teacher Type D is a
pilot program to be implemented during the 2000 - 2001 school year.
The pilot group would consist of approximately 25 teachers
representing a cross section of Douglas County's teachers. Teachers
from high school, middle school, elementary from as many subject
areas as possible will participate in the program. The Outstanding
Teacher Committee will work with the participants throughout the
year to assure program quality, to quickly respond to concerns that
will undoubtedly occur, and to help develop procedures for the Type
D program. |
