The Master Teacher component will reward teachers who demonstrate
superior skills, knowledge, and performance on an ongoing basis. A
teacher may receive the Master Teacher designation in a variety of
ways to be determined by the PPIC. The criteria for determining a
Master Teacher may include, but is not limited to:
i. National Board Certification;
ii. Outstanding Teacher designation
a number of times or different types;
iii. Providing staff development or
other professional development opportunities inside or outside the
District;
iv. Leadership within school
building or the District;
v. Outstanding student achievement
as demonstrated by data
vi. Communicating with the
community in a variety of ways;
vii. Recognition/Awards within
specific or general areas of expertise; and
viii. Specific dedication and/or
innovation that significantly impacts students
2. The process and standards by which
a teacher is designated a Master Teacher is to be developed by the
PPIC. Master Teacher will be a multi-year designation. The number of
years successful candidates will hold the designation will be
determined by the PPIC. Master teachers may be asked to use their
expertise to help the district reach its strategic goals. The nature
and extent of this help will be determined by the PPIC. The monetary
incentive of the Master Teacher designation will be no less than
twice the amount for Outstanding Teacher. |
