Performance Pay - District Responsibility Pay
Overview
District
Responsibility Pay is a finite amount of money that is negotiated
each year between the Douglas County Board of Education and the
Douglas County Federation of Teachers. It is specifically designed
to compensate teachers who work on committees of joint interest.
Once the amount of money is set, five variables are taken into
consideration for calculating a stipend amount each teacher will
receive for their work on each committee. The five variables are:
- The total amount of money
available
- What committees qualify for
District Responsibility Pay
- The umber of teachers on each
identified committee
- Each committee's scope of
responsibility
- The teacher's workload each
committee requires outside the contract
After a statistical analysis, a
numerical value is assigned value is assigned to each variable.
Finally, a spreadsheet is developed which calculates the exact
amount of each stipend. The Assistant Superintendent of Human
Resources and the President of the Douglas County Federation of
Teachers then jointly review the spreadsheet. |
