2008-2009 Apple Awards

The Douglas County Educational Foundation (DCEF) in cooperation with the Douglas County Federation (DCF) and the Douglas County School District (DCSD) are pleased to announce the nomination process for the 2008-2009 Golden Apple Awards is now open.

To commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Douglas County School District, the fourth Apple Awards dinner to be held on March 14th, 2009 will be cloaked in gold celebrating the power of 50 years. This year's Apple Awards committee will again be seeking input from the community and schools about the educators who demonstrate an unwavering commitment to students.

Nominations are sought for educators who are included in the following:

  • Pre-K-12th Grade Teachers
  • Guidance Counselors
  • Building Resource Teachers
  • Special Area Teachers (Special Education, ESL, etc.)
  • Speech/Language Pathologists
  • Psychologists and Social Workers
  • Occupational and Physical Therapists
  • Media Specialists

The DCEF would like to announce that the deadline for Apple Awards nominations will be extended two extra weeks until Monday, November 17th, to allow more time for everyone to nominate their favorite teachers.
