Jodene Kissler, Douglas County High School Physics Teacher, and
member of the Douglas County Federation, was the recipient of the
first annual Apple Award. The award was presented by Superintendent,
Jim Christensen at a black-tie gala on March 11 at the Hyatt Regency
Tech Center Denver in the Grand Ballroom. Ms. Kissler was among 60
teachers honored by the Douglas County Educational Foundation,
Douglas County School District and Douglas County Federation. The
sold-out event marked the first of its kind honoring teachers who
have demonstrated a superior ability to foster excellence in
education, while contributing to the continuous improvement of
student learning and the educational environment in Douglas County.
even semi-finalists were also honored during the evening’s
festivities. Those honored were: Kim Herman, Northeast Elementary;
Cindi Leitch, Timber Trail Elementary; Jennifer Maggiore, Ranch View
Middle School, Jason Moore, Mountain Vista High School; Eric
Mullens, Chaparral High School; and Anthony Verbsky, Highlands Ranch
High School. |
